What’s the difference between Microblading and permanent makeup tattooing?
While both procedures involve placing pigment in the skin, in traditional tattooing, pigment is added to the deepest layer of the skin and larger more abrasive needles are used. In Microblading pigment is added at a shallow depth using hand tools rather than a tattoo gun, creating a final result of a soft blend of color to the area. In addition, very fine/small needles are used causing less trauma to the skin while also avoiding the chance of drastic pigment change or blurring of strokes.
What is the difference between Permanent Makeup and Semi-Permanent Makeup?
There is very little difference. No permanent makeup will last forever, and in my profession opinion one would not want it to last forever.. Permanent makeup fades gradually over time, 3-10 years, while semi permanent will last 1-3 years giving you the option to change your look if your preferences, trends, hair color etc. change. .
Is this procedure painful?
Topical anesthetic creams/gels/liquids are used to minimize discomfort. Everyone is different, some find little or no pain.
Do I have a choice of colors?
Yes! There are a wide range of colors from which to choose. A custom color can also be mixed to suit your individual preferences.
What is involved in recovery?
There will be slight swelling and redness to the pigmented area(s), which will subside. You may resume normal activities immediately after the procedure. Complete healing takes one to six weeks while the pigmentation matures and reaches its final results.
When will I need a touch-up?
Everyone is different. If you avoid using creams with glycolic acid, use sunscreen, and wear protective clothing you can expect 1-3 years. Pigment retention depends greatly on lifestyle, skin type, age, after-care, sun exposure, use of certain skin products, an individual's immune system, medications, etc. Touch ups are recommended once a year to prevent natural fading. Just like ANY beauty treatment or routine, maintenance is required to maintain the results. In other words - Help me, help you to maintain your beauty by coming in for your annual touch-ups. This also avoids the cost of a completely new procedure, because your permanent makeup has been allowed to completely fade.
